National Read a Book Month Celebration
Developing a love for reading is important, and nowhere is it more critical than in the lives of children. On October 1, 2008, UCP of Central Florida will celebrate National Read a Book Month through Book Buds. During the event, business leaders, elected officials and media personalities from all over the community plant seeds of literacy at UCP of Central Florida's six centers.
Book Buds brings together community partners to develop a love for reading in children. It is a positive activity that enhances speech and knowledge within each child, helping them reach their full potential.
For more information, or to participate in Book Buds, please contact Ryan Dumas at (407) 852-3305 or rdumas@ucpcfl.org.
The Faces Behind the Miracles Fundraising Breakfast
This November, UCP of Central Florida will host a one-hour, free fundraising breakfast so our “UCP family” can gather in celebration of “The Faces behind the Miracles”. In 2007, approximately 700 guests attedned our breakfast helping raise more than $274,000 in gifts and pledges for UCP.
In addition to raising funds, the breakfast is a great opportunity to meet UCP families, catch up on the children’s latest achievements and support the important work that we do to help reduce or eliminate the effects of disabilities and delays.
If you are interested in attending this year's breakfast, or if you would like to host a table of 10 guests, contact Ruth Leggore at (407) 852-3308 or rleggore@ucpcfl.org.
An Evening at the Palace Annual Gala
